Full Itinerary

The tour begins in Krakow’s Old Town, where you’ll meet your local guide and fellow travellers before setting off along the historic Royal Route, the ceremonial path once used by Polish kings. As you walk, stories of coronations, royal intrigue, and everyday life in medieval Krakow unfold naturally, giving context to the streets and buildings around you.

The route leads past Krakow’s most recognisable landmarks, including Wawel Hill, where royal power and religion once met, and onward through the Old Town toward Main Market Square. Along the way, your guide shares details that go beyond the guidebook, small anecdotes, hidden symbols, and moments that reveal how Krakow evolved over the centuries.

Midway through the walk, you’ll step into a local bar known mainly to residents for sampling traditional Polish fruit liquors. This relaxed stop adds a social, local touch to the experience and gives you a taste of Krakow beyond its monuments.

You’ll then continue through the heart of the Old Town, taking in views from above at a panoramic vantage point before descending again into the lively rhythm of the city. The walk concludes with a traditional Polish lunch at a local restaurant just off the Main Square, a chance to slow down, refuel, and enjoy Polish cuisine in good company.

After lunch, your guide will point out what lies beneath the modern city, with a brief look at medieval Krakow below the Main Market Square, offering a final reminder of how layered the city truly is. The tour ends centrally, perfectly placed for further exploring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lunch is a classic Polish meal at a well-loved local restaurant near the Main Square. It’s a sit-down meal (not street food), and your guide will help you navigate the menu. Any extra drinks or add-ons beyond what’s included are paid separately.

We can usually accommodate vegetarian requests, and we can often adjust for common allergies if we know in advance. Please tell us your dietary needs at booking so we can coordinate with the restaurant. (Strict vegan or severe gluten-free can be tricky depending on the day’s menu.)

Not at all. The tasting is a fun local stop, but it’s optional. If you prefer not to drink alcohol, you can skip it or choose a non-alcoholic option if available. The stop is still worth it for the atmosphere and stories.

Expect a moderate, easy-paced walk through the Old Town along the Royal Route, with plenty of stops for stories, photos, the tasting, and lunch. You’ll be on your feet for most of the tour, so comfortable shoes are recommended.

Children are welcome, but the tour is best suited for older children and teens who enjoy trying new foods and walking for a few hours. Alcoholic drinks are, of course, only served to guests over 18.
